Wow! Where had this year gone?

The leaves are changing colors and falling to the ground. October is half over and I can't figure out where the time went. Just wanted to update, and let you all know that I am well, happy and still skinny. Yeah!

My weight got down to 120lbs at the beginning of the year, and I was really too skinny. Thank goodness I put some weight back on (NEVER thought I'd say those words!) and I have settled at around 129lbs for the past 5 months or so. I wear a 2 or 4 and that is about as small as I ever want to be. I feel great and have no health complaints. I eat well, even though the amounts are small, it's all about quality. I take my vitamins and I get my protein. I'm even taking a yoga class. Life is good.

I am working, and have been at my job for about 7 months. I had not been looking to return to work, but these economic times....well. I am pleasantly surprised at how much I like my job, and I can say that I am very happy to have a good job that pays me ok, gives me and my family health insurance at a reasonable rate, and gives me paid holidays and vacation.

My biggest and best news is that I became a grandmother on August 26th. I have the sweetest grandson, Brody. I was able to see him for about a week right after he was born, but sadly I had to return to NC and he is in FL. Sigh. We will see him at Christmas, and we can't wait. His mother is my sweet daughter in love Robin. She too is an MGB'er, and I am just letting any of you young women know that she had a wonderful pregnancy and is still a skinny girl. I am so proud of her!

I hope that you are all having a great fall. If you are lucky enough to see colors changing, make sure you take an afternoon to just drive in the country and enjoy it. You will always have other things to do. Make time for special moments.

It's chilly, 39 this morning, and probably about that now. I'm gonna sign off, wishing you a beautiful fall.

What a bad blogger I am!

I just realized the last time I blogged was New Years Day. Ouch! Well, my only excuse is that I got a job on 1/2/09, and it took up my free time. However, it was short lived, and I am job hunting once again, so I have a little time to write.

I think my weight loss has finally stopped....and that's a good thing. I average around 122lbs and wear a size 4. Never thought that I would be this small. Yesterday I saw the son of some of my friends that I hadn't seen in about a year. He's in his early 20's and I've known him pretty much his entire life. He said, "Wow! You really got skinny! You look great!" I appreciated the compliment!

For those of you who are doing your research and making decisions, I encourage you to talk to as many post ops as you can...join the message boards, email, whatever. I can't tell you that your experience will be just like mine, but you can get an idea of what is ahead of you by talking to many of us. I consider myself very blessed to have had the MGB, and to have lost all my excess weight. As I near the 2 year mark, I remind myself to eat healthy foods, take my supplements and vitamins and to try to get some regular exercise. I want to make sure that 10 years from now I am still wearing these size 4's.

I recently celebrated my 51st birthday, so I guess I am officially over 50. Not to mention that I will be a grandmother in August. Life sure does fly by! I am happy though, and look and feel better than ever.

Spring is just around the corner. The daffodils are poking their bright little heads up, and the willows are shooting out their bright green leaves. I love Springtime in the mountains. It will be nice to get some warm weather and get out and about and enjoy the outdoors.

I wish you all a Happy St. Patricks Day, and a spectacular Spring!

Enjoy life!

It's gonna be fine in 2009!

Happy New Year. Well, this is officially the first year that I am not starting out overweight. What a thrill that is! I'm steady at about 125lbs - and that is somewhere I never thought I'd be. But I'm loving it!

I ran into a nice woman that I know this week. She used to be my doctor's receptionist, and we would discuss our weight issues. Well, she had a gastric bypass in September, and is already down 72lbs. She looks great and is so excited! I had gone by to see her some months ago, and she said that she was so amazed at how I looked, and continued her pursuit. It was so fun seeing her and comparing notes!

I have no idea what 2009 holds. I just know I won't be worried about my weight, and that is so freeing. But life is ever progressing and I know that there will be challenges, and lessons to learn and forks in the road. I look forward to what God has to teach me, and just hope that I'm a fast learner this year!

Blessings to you all! May you be the best that you can be in all that you do.
